Sobeys Negotiations Update

Sobeys Warehouse in Edmonton voted 69% to reject the Company's final offer on April 25th, 2005. The biggest issue was the clause the Employer had put in that did not allow discipline to come off an employees file until they have gone twelve (12) months without any form of discipline at all. The Union has asked the Mediator to write out and will be applying for a strike vote to take place as early as May 11th, 2005. Please watch your Union bulletin board for further information. The Union has also told the Company that they are prepared to meet to try to resolve a possible dispute.
