Lakeside Strike Day 24 November 4, 2005 (Day 24) The Strike is Over! Lakeside / Tyson workers in Brooks have ratified their first collective agreement bringing to an end a strike which lasted 24 days.
Lakeside Strike Day 21 Tuesday, Nov. 1 (Day 21) of the strike and the picket lines are gaining strength as more plant employees join the striking Lakeside workers. The Union Bargaining Committee and Company Officials have arranged a meeting today to have exploratory discussions to see if there is any movement in the positions of either side.
Lakeside Strike Day 12 Sunday Oct. 23 (Day 12) was a quiet day on the picket line in Brooks as UFCW picketers recovered from a week that saw the deaths of two fellow picketers and the injury of four others in a tragic accident. Lakeside Packers has suffered losses in production due to the strike with the strikers vowing to continue their fight for a fair first contract.
Lakeside Strike Day 10 Picketing is cancelled for today to mourn the deaths of two members on strike who were tragically killed in a two-car collision last night. Four other passengers were also injured. Foul play is not a factor. Picketing to resume Saturday at 5 a.m.
